This is Bonfire’s most popular workshop and is an overview of the fundamentals of the method that companies across the globe use to uncover breakthrough ideas. This workshop covers the five stages of design thinking, which is a problem-solving methodology that prioritizes human needs and values. This method drives results. Research shows a 229 percent per project return on investment when design thinking is used. The steps include listening to your client or customer; defining their problem, brainstorming solutions, building a model of an idea to get more feedback and testing it further for its effectiveness. This workshop also uses methods from comedy and acting.

This workshop delves deeply into the first stage of discovering breakthrough ideas: listening. We listen to stories to inspire our ideas. Those stories reveal the values, behaviors and conflicts within the people we want to serve. That information ultimately informs the decisions we make as creative innovators in building new services or products. This workshop involves practicing interviewing and storytelling skills as a path to discovering your creative voice as an innovator. It uses techniques from Bonfire CEO Lisa Rossi’s nearly two decades of experience as a journalist, as well as her experience listening and telling stories as a comedian.
